Karachi, 7 April 2026: Lahore Qalandars visited the Special Security Unit (SSU) Sindh Police Headquarters in Karachi to appreciate the efforts of the security unit and to gain insight into the operational framework and the capability that ensures safety during the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL).

The delegation, including team owners Atif Rana and Sameen Rana, along with the entire Lahore Qalandars squad, was given an extensive walkthrough of the SSU’s capabilities and preparedness in securing the city and providing a safe environment for teams and stakeholders during the tournament.

During the visit, SSU officials briefed the team on their security protocols, response strategies, and the advanced armoury and equipment at their disposal. The session highlighted the scale and professionalism involved in maintaining a secure environment for international sporting events.

Players also participated in both virtual and live shooting activities with firearms, gaining first-hand experience of the training methods employed by the unit.

Speaking on the occasion, Team owner Sameen Rana said: “We have the highest respect for our security forces, whose unwavering dedication and professionalism make events like the PSL possible. Their commitment goes far beyond duty, they ensure that players, officials can enjoy the game in a safe and secure environment. Atif Rana also acknowledged the critical role played by the SSU in ensuring safety for every stakeholder, commending the unit’s dedication in creating a secure and conducive atmosphere for cricket to thrive.
