Lahore Qalandars proudly announce the selected players for their prestigious Player Development
Program (PDP) at The University of Lahore, following the highly competitive trials held at the QalandarsUOL High-Performance Centre.
After witnessing over 12,000 aspiring cricketers from various cities across Pakistan showcase their skills,
the final selection has been made. These outstanding individuals demonstrated exceptional talent in
batting, bowling, and wicketkeeping, impressing the evaluators with their dedication and potential. The
selected players now have the unique opportunity to further their cricketing careers under the expert
guidance of the Lahore Qalandars and The University of Lahore.
The selected players are as follows:
The PDP trials were supervised by PDP’s star icon, Haris Rauf, alongside Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen
Afridi, Fakhar Zaman, and senior coaching staff. Their active involvement throughout the PDP ensured a
thorough and professional assessment of each player’s capabilities.
Lahore Qalandars’ Owner and CEO, Mr. Atif Rana, said: “Lahore Qalandars has been running the Player
Development Program for the past nine years, and today we are fortunate to have Mr. Awais Raoof,
Chairman of UOL, join us with a shared vision. Mr. Awais Raoof envisioned, one year ago, a plan to develop
sports facilities with Lahore Qalandars. Today, we have fulfilled that vision by conducting open trials for
the Player Development Program, with 12,000 players participating. This massive response shows the
trust our youth have in us. Whenever we call them, they respond enthusiastically. I want to thank all the
players who took part in the trials yesterday and showcased their talent. Lahore Qalandars will continue
to search for more talent, so keep working hard”.
While speaking to the media, Mr. Awais Raoof, Chairman of UOL, said: “The University of Lahore and
Lahore Qalandars have jointly launched a new High-Performance Centre. Out of the 12,000 participants,
those selected will be trained by Lahore Qalandars and provided with various opportunities. The
University of Lahore will also award them four-year scholarships for their education, while training them
in different fields to enhance their exposure and growth in life. This is a truly unique collaboration, where
a top-level cricket franchise partners with a university to provide opportunities to aspiring players. I
congratulate all the selected players from this large pool, which reflects both the merit-based nature of
the PDP and the immense talent these players possess”.
The announcement of the selected players was further distinguished by the presence of Fakhar Zaman,
who motivated the players to continue working hard. Lahore Qalandars’ owner and CEO, Atif Rana,
alongside UOL Chairman Awais Raoof and Fakhar Zaman, presented shirts to the selected players.
