Smart Cricket Global Ltd, the world’s first smart wearable company for cricket, known for bringing next-generation contactless motion capture technology to the real game arena, has signed on as Technical Partners for the PSL franchise Lahore Qalandars.

With this partnership, the UK-based company aims to introduce data and technology at the grassroots level in Pakistan cricket. “The partnership is a natural one. At Smart Cricket, we have always focused on the democratization of data. Our goal is to ensure that every cricketer has access to their own data and the tools to use it to better their game. Lahore Qalandars have had some great initiatives in the past with recognizing talent and bringing it to the forefront. Through our partnership, we can now ensure that even more cricketers across Pakistan have access to technology in cricket,” says Mohammed Ameen, Founder of Smart Cricket.

Smart Cricket’s pilot product is BatSense, a smart wearable device that provides real-time, authentic data capturing every single element of batting, including bat speed, shot efficiency, power, and more. Easily mounted on the top of the bat handle, the device sends data directly to any smartphone. The app also includes features such as a 3D player avatar and video mode, which will revolutionize the scope for players and coaches to analyze and improve performance.

“It is exciting for us to partner with Smart Cricket. Cricket as a sport has always been technical, but now technology will be at the forefront of advancements in sports going forward. With the use of BatSense, the Qalandars can gain far greater insight into player development and output than ever before,” said Aaqib Javed, Director of Cricket Operations at Lahore Qalandars.

The PSL as a league is gaining popularity, and the impact it is having on Pakistan cricket is evident. Bringing in technology ensures that this impact will be even greater, and progress will be seen at every level. In addition to the technology partnership, we are also pleased to sign on as the distributors for BatSense in Pakistan,” adds Atif Rana, Owner & CEO of Lahore Qalandars.

Cricket is embracing technology like never before, with technical analysts becoming a necessity for every team. Data and its analysis can make the difference between a loss and a win. “The Qalandars have always been an exciting team to watch. We are honored to be associated with them and hope to be a part of the journey as they win the PSL soon,” concludes Steve Selwood, Co-Founder of Smart Cricket and Former UK cricketer.

Smart Cricket will now be available online and through Lahore Qalandars’ distribution channels across Pakistan, adding to its global presence in all cricketing nations worldwide.
