Talking to The Nation, flamboyant opener says he is keen to make a courageous comeback by representing Lahore Qalandars development squad as a team member. “I am 100 percent physically fit now and trying to regain my old form. I am eager to give out my best not only this tournament but also in the Pakistan Super League and hopefully, I will be able to book a berth in the national team.
“I have made a comeback three months ago to the game after recovering from the disease. I am really grateful to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Shahif Afridi foundation, who took care of me and helped me regaining my health. I am also thankful to Lahore Qalandars and especially Aqib Javed for giving me opportunity, which helped me in the nets to get back my old touch.”
He said that it’s a miracle that he is able to play cricket again. “I want to play very good cricket and want to deliver so that I may impress the selectors through my performances but I don’t know how long and at what level I will play. Aqib is proving a big help as he has selected me for Abu Dhabi event and now for Australia tour. It would help me to re-launch my career.
“I am also thankful to my fans, who prayed for me and want me to see play again. It is their love that motivates me. I have firm belief in Allah and His schemes. Although I have got no from many doctors that I could not recover from my disease yet I kept faith in Allah and he bestowed upon me with health. It is in Almighty’s hand how I could fare further in the sports.”
Committed Imran said that he would try to play good cricket and if got a chance to represent the country again, he would try to give his 100 percent. “It is everyone’s wish to represent the country at international level and I am also waiting for those moments, when I may represent the country and help the team score crucial victories. I am also eyeing playing PSL. I am again getting back to rhythm and I hope that you would soon see the old back of me.”
